New york: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in New York on Monday evening (local time) to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. Araghchi, leading a high-ranking delegation, was greeted at John F. Kennedy Airport by Gholamhossein Darzi, Iran's permanent representative and chargé d'affaires to the United Nations. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, en route to New York, Araghchi made a brief stop in Doha, where he engaged in consultations with Qatari officials about the latest regional developments. This stop underscores the ongoing diplomatic efforts in the region prior to the main event at the UN. President Masoud Pezeshkian is also set to depart for New York on Tuesday to participate in the 81st UN General Assembly. He will address the assembly and is scheduled to meet with several world leaders and officials on the sidelines of the summit, furthering Iran's diplomatic engagements.
