Tehran: Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has offered condolences over the passing of Ayatollah Seyyed Mousa Shobeiri Zanjani, a prominent Shia scholar and source of emulation.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in a message on Monday, Ghalibaf described the Iranian senior cleric as a prominent scholar who played a significant role in religious education. He noted that the scholar devoted his life to jurisprudence, teaching, and training students.

Ayatollah Seyyed Mousa Shobeiri Zanjani passed away on September 21, 2026, at age 98, after a lifetime devoted to religious scholarship, jurisprudence, and teaching.
