Dushanbe: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei, who is accompanying the top Iranian diplomat to Dushanbe, has met with Matobe Khan Sattaryan, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan. Baqaei and Sattaryan exchanged views on a number of bilateral issues on Wednesday, especially the current activities and planned programs aimed at strengthening cultural relations between the two neighbors.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in the meeting that was attended by Baqaei’s Tajik counterpart, Shahin Samadi, the two sides reviewed cooperation in various fields, including the Persian language, book publication, exchange of cultural, artistic, and media delegations, as well as joint programs in the fields of music, cinema, and theater.

They also emphasized the importance of strengthening people-to-people contact by taking advantage of the cultural week of the two countries, which is scheduled to be held in the autumn.

Baqaei, along with Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, departed for Dushanbe with a formal send-off by Nizomiddin Zohidi, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Iran.
