Tehran: Saeed Habiba, head of the Organization of Student Affairs at the Ministry of Science, has stated that students from 101 countries are currently studying in Iranian universities.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Habiba highlighted the efforts made by the Organization of Student Affairs to attract international students despite the challenges facing the country. Currently, about 60,000 foreign students are enrolled in Iranian universities, and new applicants continue to register.

Habiba noted that a majority of these scholarship students hail from Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, and India. He also shared future plans, revealing that Iran aims to host 320,000 international students by the end of the Seventh Development Plan, which corresponds to the Iranian calendar year 1407, starting in March 2028.

The official made these remarks during the 5th Regional Meeting of the National Working Group on Attracting Foreign Students, held on September 11.
