Paris: French Foreign Minister Jean-No«l Barrot has expressed Paris's complete support for the diplomatic process and the resulting memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States. During the phone call with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Thursday, Barrot emphasized France's full support for the diplomatic process and the resulting MoU, emphasizing the importance of taking advantage of this opportunity to enhance peace, stability, and sustainable security in the region.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the top Iranian diplomat highlighted the importance of the Islamabad MoU, emphasizing that the United States has a responsibility to actively contribute to ending the war and stopping hostilities on all fronts, including in Lebanon. He also pointed out the opportunities for enhancing relations between Iran and France, particularly in the economic and commercial sectors, that have arisen from the Islamabad MoU.

Araghchi underscored the need for decisive and comprehensive support from the international community and international organizations, such as the United Nations Security Council, to ensure the implementation of this MoU and to support the peaceful processes it generates. The two sides also emphasized the importance of safe and secure transit and shipping in compliance with international law in the Strait of Hormuz.
