Islamabad: President Masoud Pezeshkian and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have underscored the importance of ongoing cooperation to bolster peace and security, as well as to enhance the strategic relationship between Tehran and Islamabad. During a phone conversation, the leaders discussed the latest developments concerning the Islamabad memorandum of understanding (MoU) and the evolving processes between Iran and the United States.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian expressed his gratitude for the compassionate and responsible efforts of the Pakistani government in reducing tensions and advancing diplomatic initiatives. He specifically acknowledged Prime Minister Sharif, Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Seyyed Mohsin Naqvi for their constructive roles in the mediation process that led to the initial agreement to end the conflict between Iran and the United States.
Pezeshkian highlighted the value of the Pakistani officials' approach, rooted in good faith and Islamic brotherhood, as a significant demonstration of empathy and collaboration between the two nations.
