Tehran: Spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik, stated that the sanctions imposed by the United States and certain Western nations have been pivotal in transforming restrictions into opportunities for self-reliance and advancements in Iran's defense industry.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Talaei-Nik emphasized that Iran's defense industry has been shaped by several factors, including strategic directives from the Revolution's leaders, Imam Khomeini and Imam Khamenei. He highlighted the spirit of self-belief and the "We Can" ethos, which are rooted in the Islamic Revolution and now deeply ingrained within the country's defense sector.

General Talaei-Nik elaborated that the sanctions over the past 47 years have contributed to Iran's ability to localize weaponry and equipment, resulting in a significant leap forward in the defense industry. He further explained that public participation and privatization have shifted the defense industry toward a model driven by national ecosystem engagement. Presently, knowledge-based companies and the private sector produce a majority of the subsystems and raw materials required for defense equipment.

He also noted the diversity of weaponry and equipment across various combat domains as a major achievement of Iran's defense industry. The recent expertise and knowledge acquired by the armed forces and the defense industry during two recent wars were cited as new accomplishments, demonstrating Iran's growing expertise in defense.
