Berlin: Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei says Germany has failed to show 'even the minimum moral courage' to condemn the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei criticized Germany for its lack of condemnation in a post on X, addressing remarks made by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz during a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi. The chancellor's comments included references to Iran's 'war,' its 'military nuclear program,' and its 'proxies,' which Baqaei described as a 'knowingly distorted' narrative.

Baqaei emphasized that the United States and Israel, rather than Iran, initiated the conflict and criticized Germany for making accusations against Iran without denouncing the attacks. He suggested that Germany should reconsider its stance as a proponent of peace and moral authority, especially after supporting actions that Merz himself had labeled 'dirty work.'

The spokesperson also refuted claims about Iran's military nuclear ambitions, asserting that Tehran does not have such a program. He further argued that those whom Berlin labels as 'proxies' are, in fact, independent entities with their own distinct motivations and strategies.
