Tehran: Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf says Iran will not yield to pressure, calling on the US to honor its commitments under the Islamabad memorandum of understanding (MoU).
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during a meeting with Pakistan's Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir in Tehran on Monday, Ghalibaf reviewed instances where the United States has failed to uphold its commitments under the Islamabad MoU.
Ghalibaf, who leads the Iranian negotiating team, emphasized that the obligations of both parties under the Islamabad MoU are clear, pointing out that the United States' failure to fulfill its commitments has hindered regional stability and further eroded trust in Washington.
He also rejected the notion that external pressure could influence Iran, asserting that Tehran remains committed to implementing the terms of the MoU.
Ghalibaf said that the United States must honor its commitments as stipulated in the agreement.
For his part, Asim Munir said that he would continue his efforts to help restore stability in the region.
