Tehran: Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, has criticized the contradiction between Washington's claims of victory and its intensified economic pressure on Tehran. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Gharibabadi questioned the statements made by the US Secretary of the Treasury regarding Iran's military capabilities and nuclear program. In a post on his X account, Gharibabadi addressed Mr. Bessent, highlighting inconsistencies in his narrative. He referred to claims that Iran's military capacity has been dismantled, its military factories destroyed, and its nuclear program halted. Gharibabadi pointed out the irony in the US's actions, noting that despite these claims, the US has launched what he described as the largest financial offensive in history against Iran, involving a comprehensive mobilization of US agencies and authorities. He questioned whether these actions represented a victory for the US or an admission of defeat.
