Hezbollah Blames Lebanese Govt.’s Illegal Approach for Continued US-Backed Israeli Aggression

Beirut: The Hezbollah resistance movement, referring to the Israeli aggression, says the regime has continued its deadly onslaught with the backing of the United States, amid inaction of the Lebanese government and a complete silence from the international community.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Hezbollah criticized the approach of the Lebanese authorities, saying the continued Israeli occupation, attacks, killings, and destruction in the country show the failure of direct negotiations and the framework agreement with the regime. It said the 'illegal and unconstitutional path' of officials in Beirut had brought nothing but shame and humiliation to the country, adding that such an approach has given the Israeli regime the necessary cover to continue its aggression, achieve its goals, and impose its conditions and demands on Lebanon.

The statement highlighted that Lebanese officials have not only failed to accept their responsibilities following 'their direct and fruitless negotiations and the framework agreement,' but rather continue to insist on their incorrect options that give the Israeli regime a free hand to violate them every day. Hezbollah stressed that the US-backed Israeli mayhem had no justification other than to exert pressure on the Lebanese authorities and blackmail them to implement American-Zionist agendas.

Pointing to Israel's crimes in southern Lebanon under false pretexts and its defiance of international law, Hezbollah criticized the silence of the international community on the aggression being carried out with the clear complicity of the United States. The movement further called on the Lebanese authorities to reconsider their calculations, set aside differences and conflicts to secure the interests of Lebanon and its people, and return to the agreed national principles that protect the country's sovereignty.

This statement was issued as the invading Israeli forces have continued to violate the ceasefire and have kept occupying parts of the country, despite an agreement with the Lebanese government.
