Tehran:Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem emphasized that Palestine remains the guiding principle for the movement, pledging continued resistance against Israeli actions and occupation.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Sheikh Qassem made these remarks during a ceremony commemorating the second anniversary of the martyrdom of former Hezbollah leaders Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine. He highlighted the significance of the Palestinian issue and reiterated Hezbollah's dedication to its principles and mission to confront aggression.

Qassem asserted that resistance has thwarted aggressive projects and prevented the enemy from achieving its goals, stressing the importance of southern Lebanon as vital to the country's foundation and future. He clarified that the issue lies with aggression, not resistance, and vowed not to surrender any part of Lebanon's 10,452 square kilometers.

Addressing Lebanese politicians, he attributed the recent decrease in tensions to a memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States signed in June. He questioned the politicians' past attempts to disarm the resistance and expressed concern about involving the Lebanese army in political matters, which he claimed could backfire.

Sheikh Qassem also criticized a framework agreement, alleging it conceded everything to the enemy in a single session. He concluded that any Israeli withdrawal from territories or proposals for such withdrawals result from resistance and the memorandum rather than negotiations.
