Tehran:A senior military advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution highlighted the strategic significance of Iran's oil industry, emphasizing its contribution to national strength and security.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi remarked during a ceremony in Tehran that Iran's power equation is shaped not only by public visibility but also by its energy sector. He spoke at an event honoring those who supported the country's oil and refining industries during conflicts involving US-Israeli aggression.

General Rahim-Safavi referred to historical conflicts such as the '12-Day War' and '40-Day Ramadan War,' asserting that actions led by Zionists, including Benjamin Netanyahu, aimed to control Iran's energy resources and the Persian Gulf. He underscored Iran's strategic importance, citing former US President Eisenhower's view of Iran as pivotal due to its oil and geographic location.

The advisor encouraged current American leadership to study Iran's history, suggesting that understanding the country's civilizational depth and potential as a military power is crucial. He noted that Iran's rich history contrasts with the US's 250 years, emphasizing Iran's resilience and invincibility.

General Rahim-Safavi also criticized former US President Trump's oil resource claims and attempts to apply similar strategies in Iran as were used in Venezuela, noting their failure. He praised the Ministry of Petroleum for its efforts during the Islamic Revolution and the 8-year Sacred Defense, particularly in defending Abadan and providing wartime logistical support.

The role of oil in Iran's national destiny was reaffirmed, with General Rahim-Safavi stating that the power equation is significantly influenced not only by the country's populace but also by the vital work conducted within its oil fields.
