Doha:Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni arrived in Doha on Monday evening to engage in discussions with Qatari officials concerning bilateral security cooperation and regional issues.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Momeni was welcomed by Qatari Minister of State Abdulaziz bin Faisal. His visit follows an official invitation from Qatari Interior Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
The discussions are set to cover a range of topics, including information exchange and operational cooperation to combat terrorism and organized crime, as well as efforts to tackle drug trafficking. Border and maritime security, cybersecurity, and international police cooperation will also be addressed.
Further issues on the agenda include regional developments, border equipment and technology collaboration, consular and expatriate affairs, and educational and academic cooperation.
Momeni is accompanied by several Iranian officials, including Tehran Governor Mohammad-Sadegh Motamedian and Hormozgan Governor Mohammad Ashouri.
