Khosravi: Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni has announced that more than 3.4 million Arbaeen pilgrims have crossed six official borders. Speaking to reporters during his visit to the Khosravi border, Momeni mentioned that two million pilgrims have already returned to Iran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the cooperation between Iran and Iraq has led to a significant improvement in the process at the Khosravi border. Public transportation at these border points has been well managed, and there have been no reported issues, Momeni stated.

Momeni emphasized that all borders are under the surveillance of enforcement and border guard forces. He assured that there have been no security-related issues reported so far.

Arbaeen is a significant mourning ritual observed by Shia Muslims globally, marking the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). This year, Arbaeen falls on September 6. Millions of Shia Muslims travel to Iraq, predominantly from or via Iran, in the weeks leading up to Arbaeen to visit the holy shrines in the Arab country.
