Iran and Iraq Discuss Regional Developments Over Phone

Baghdad: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Mohammed Hussein have reviewed the latest regional developments over a phone call. In the conversation held on Monday, Araghchi and Hussein exchanged views on the evolving situation in the region.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Foreign Minister Araghchi had previously engaged in discussions on regional and international issues with his counterparts from Pakistan and Russia. These discussions reflect Iran's ongoing efforts to engage with neighboring countries on crucial regional matters.

Earlier, Iran's ambassador in Baghdad, Mohammad Kazem Al-e-Sadegh, expressed gratitude to the Iraqi people and government for their supportive stance towards Iran. He acknowledged Iraq's solidarity, particularly in the aftermath of the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei by the US-Israeli forces and the subsequent conflict involving the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Meanwhile, the new Iraqi president, Nizar Amidi, also met with Iran's ambassador in Baghdad to explore ways to strengthen bilateral relations. Both parties emphasized the importance of continued dialogues to achieve peace and end the ongoing war in the region.
