Iran Assures Safety of Its Airspace for Foreign Flights

Tehran:According to Morteza Dehqan, the deputy minister of roads and urban development and CEO of the Iran Airport and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Iranian airspace is safe for all foreign and international flights. He emphasized that all international standards and regulations are fully observed.

Speaking with the Islamic Republic News Agency, Dehqan described the air transport industry as a strategic component of national power, highlighting the importance of airports and air navigation as key elements of transport infrastructure. He underlined Iran's commitment to providing safe services for people and aircraft, adhering to international laws and regulations.

Dehqan mentioned that Iran engages in air traffic exchanges with 12 neighboring countries, ensuring operations through Iranian airspace comply with international standards. He also condemned hostile actions by the United States during a recent conflict, noting that the U.S. directly damaged around 27 Iranian airports despite international regulations prohibiting attacks on civilian infrastructure.

Despite these challenges, Iran has upgraded its infrastructure using modern methods and advanced equipment, fulfilling international obligations and leveraging domestic expertise. Dehqan criticized U.S. sanctions and threats against airlines but reaffirmed Iran's compliance with international standards. He assured the international aviation community that Iranian airspace remains a safe route for all flights.
