Iran Establishes Control in Strait of Hormuz, Says Army Spokesperson

Tehran:An 'Iranian order' now prevails in the Strait of Hormuz, according to Army spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami-Nia, who described the strategic waterway as Iranian.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Akrami-Nia discussed the recent US-Israeli-imposed war against Iran, highlighting that adversaries anticipated economic turmoil and public unrest to incite Iranians against their government in the event of an attack. Contrary to these expectations, Iranians countered these calculations with active involvement.

The spokesperson stated that Iran's adversaries aimed to weaken and overthrow the Islamic Republic, with a strategic goal of advancing plans for a 'Greater Israel' in the region. He noted that Iranians had previously protected the nation's independence during the 1980-88 Iraqi-imposed war and had once again thwarted adversaries' objectives in the recent conflict.

Akrami-Nia highlighted that adversaries expected to surprise Iran with a swift operation but were instead taken aback by the public's participation, the resilience of the Armed Forces, and Iran's defense capabilities. One significant outcome of the recent conflict, he noted, was the establishment of an 'Iranian order' in the Strait of Hormuz, a situation the Armed Forces are committed to maintaining.

He pointed out that adversaries attempted to use media coverage to depict shipping traffic in the strait as normal. However, he argued that energy markets and shipping conditions indicated a different reality compared to the pre-war situation.

The army spokesperson described the Strait of Hormuz as a strategic Iranian asset, asserting that the Armed Forces would robustly defend the nation's rights and prevent the waterway's exploitation as in the past.
