Iran Condemns Israeli Resolution on Full Occupation of Gaza City

Tehran: Iran’s Foreign Ministry has issued a vehement condemnation of a recent resolution by Israel’s security cabinet that aims to fully occupy Gaza City. The Iranian government has characterized this move as part of an ongoing plan to commit genocide against Palestinians and erase their identity and existence.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s statement expressed grave concern over the continued violence and genocide occurring in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as the attacks on Islamic holy sites in Holy Quds. The statement also acknowledged the support from freedom-loving governments and nations that have shown solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine. It emphasized the international community’s responsibility to halt the genocide and provide immediate assistance to the beleaguered residents of Gaza.

The Iranian statement went on to firmly denounce the Israeli cabinet’s decision to occupy Gaza City and displace its residents, viewing it as an expansion of the occupation and a violation of international law. The statement highlighted the need to preserve the identity and historical and legal status of holy sites in Holy Quds and condemned any actions aimed at re-displacing the Palestinian people.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for an immediate cessation of aggression against Gaza, urging for the unconditional access of humanitarian aid to the Strip. It also stressed the importance of supporting regional and international efforts to achieve a ceasefire, facilitate the exchange of prisoners, and implement a reconstruction plan for Gaza.

The statement further referenced decisions by the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice, which have issued arrest warrants for Israeli political and military officials, holding them accountable for crimes committed and humanitarian catastrophes in Gaza. It called on the international community, especially the Security Council and other global legal and human rights institutions, to fulfill their duties in prosecuting Zionist criminals and ending the regime’s long-standing impunity.

The Ministry reiterated the necessity for recognizing the national rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Holy Quds as its capital. It also emphasized Iran’s support for the Palestinian people’s right to freedom from occupation and highlighted a democratic initiative allowing the original inhabitants of Palestinian land to determine their political future.
