Tehran: Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, has issued a strong condemnation following a terrorist attack near a mosque in Kohat, located in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The attack, which occurred during Friday prayers, resulted in the death and injury of dozens of individuals. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families, as well as to the government and citizens of Pakistan. He emphasized Iran's unwavering stance against all manifestations of terrorism and violent extremism. Baqaei insisted that acts of violence and terrorism targeting civilians and security forces are utterly unjustifiable. The spokesperson also highlighted the necessity for enhanced regional collaboration to combat terrorism effectively. The attack in Pakistan claimed the lives of at least 21 individuals, comprising five civilians and 16 police officers, and left over 70 people injured in a suicide bombing targeting a police compound. Authorities report ed that six terrorists, including a suicide bomber, were neutralized during the incident.
