Iran Criticizes UK Over Fairford Air Base Allegations

Tunis:Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denounced claims by British officials that Iran was involved in a security incident at the Fairford air base, describing these allegations as an 'ugly conspiracy' against the country.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Monday evening, asserting that the UK government cannot avoid political and legal responsibility for its accusations by using vague language and failing to provide concrete evidence.

The ministry further argued that the accusation serves as part of an anti-Iran campaign and allows Britain to evade accountability for its involvement in US-Israeli military actions against Iran. They criticized the UK's use of terms like 'highly likely' and 'almost certainly,' describing it as a tactic to dodge responsibility for unsupported claims.

The statement also highlighted Britain's history of allegedly fabricating security claims against other nations, which has sometimes resulted in tensions and conflicts in the West Asia region. The Iranian ministry called for the UK government to be held accountable for its persistent approach that, they claim, undermines international peace and security.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry emphatically rejected the accusations against Iran and held the UK government, along with those they termed the 'architects and perpetrators of this clumsy false-flag operation,' responsible for any consequences arising from these alleged fabrications.
