Tehran: Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman has criticized Washington's perception of global sovereignty, arguing that the United States views the world as a "Pluribus" hive where nations blindly follow its lead.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Esmaeil Baqaei, the spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry, expressed his views in a recent post on his X account. He claimed that Washington assumes nations lack memory and critical thought, treating them as part of a collective hive that unthinkingly absorbs American narratives. Baqaei referenced "Pluribus," a 2025 American post-apocalyptic science fiction series, to illustrate his point.

Baqaei further criticized the United States' approach, highlighting the contradiction between its economic measures and public statements. He described a "brutal economic war" waged against Iran that causes widespread suffering among Iranian citizens. Baqaei contrasted this with what he termed the "theatrical" announcements of measures that prevent Iranian officials from shopping at an American wholesale club, emphasizing the inconsistency of sanctioning an entire nation's economy while focusing on trivial issues like store memberships.

The spokesman concluded by condemning what he saw as crude propaganda from the United States. He argued that this propaganda reveals a naive mindset responsible for an unlawful war against Iran, which, in his view, has contributed to the United States' current global standing.
