Tehran: Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) spokesperson Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi has mocked Washington's efforts to portray the alleged rescue of an American pilot in Iran as a success, saying the story recently published in the US media about the incident is 'just fictional.' According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Mohebbi stated that no one can believe the narrative put forward by the American media about the rescue of the pilot in April during the joint US-Israeli aggression. He likened the story, published earlier this week as part of a report in CBS News's 60 Minutes program, to the scripts of Hollywood movies and a clear attempt to manufacture an achievement from the failed aggression on Iran. General Mohebbi criticized the narrative, highlighting the pilot's claim of surviving a crash after his F-15 jet was shot down by Iranian military forces. The pilot allegedly survived despite his parachute failing to open and crashing into a mountain at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour. Mohebbi emphasized that no sound mind would accept such a fictional and unacceptable story. He further stated that the United States has a history of creating fictional stories about its success in foreign wars. According to Mohebbi, the US government is fabricating achievements from its failed aggression on Iran due to intense pressure from its allies, domestic rivals, and political factions regarding the outcomes of its costly military endeavors. Mohebbi concluded that the US is embarrassing itself with these actions, and the pilot's interview would not only fail to bring any achievement but also become a source of ridicule.
