Iran Criticizes Western Support for Israeli Actions in Gaza

Tehran: Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, has once again condemned the ongoing Israeli operations in Gaza, accusing Western nations of complicity in what he refers to as the “colonial erasure” of Palestine. Baqaei’s remarks highlight the tension between Iran and Western countries regarding the situation in the region.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei used his X account on Sunday to criticize the United States and several Western governments for their role in the continuation of Israeli actions in Gaza. He accused these nations of being morally bankrupt and complicit in the events occurring in the Palestinian territories. Baqaei argued that these actions are taking place with the consent and institutionalized support of Western politicians.

Baqaei also expressed dismay over the Western governments’ disregard for their citizens’ protests against Israeli actions. He stated that these governments have lost their moral direction, which he believes is why they remain supportiv
e of Israel’s actions and ignore calls for accountability.

The condemnation by Iran comes amidst ongoing military actions by Israel in Gaza, with reports of targeted attacks on civilians and restrictions on humanitarian aid into the Palestinian territory. These actions have drawn international attention and criticism, including a ruling by the United Nations’ top court, which has called for the cessation of such measures in adherence to international law.
