New York:A source close to Iran's delegation to the United Nations has confirmed there are no plans for the delegation to engage in negotiations with the United States.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, dismissed reports suggesting talks between Iran and the US were set to occur in New York. The Iranian delegation is in New York for the UN General Assembly's annual session.

The source explained that Iran's positions were clearly communicated to the US last Tuesday via a Qatari mediator, and Iran is currently waiting for a response from the US. As a result, there is no new round of negotiations planned, and Iran's foreign minister is expected to return home on Tuesday after fulfilling the delegation's scheduled programs.

President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi are representing Iran at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
