New York:Iran's Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Gholamhossein Darzi, has criticized the NATO chief's comments about European involvement in military actions against Iran. Darzi claims that the acknowledgment of thousands of planes taking off from European territory illustrates the significant role Europe played in enabling U.S. aggression and alleged war crimes against Iran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Darzi made these remarks in a letter dated September 26, addressed to UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres and the President of the UN Security Council J©r´me Bonnafont. The letter references an interview given by NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte on September 23, where he stated that '5,000 planes' had departed from European bases since February 28 in support of the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran.

Darzi emphasized that this figure was only calculated through mid-April and suggested that the actual number might be higher. He highlighted the significance of the NATO chief's admission as it underscores Europe's critical role in the military actions against Iran and calls for the UN Security Council to address this situation seriously.

The ambassador outlined various instances of aggression and war crimes, attributing them to the U.S. and its European allies. These acts included attacks on civilians and infrastructure, resulting in extensive loss of life and environmental damage. Darzi urged the United Nations to hold the NATO Secretary-General and European officials accountable for their involvement in these acts and to ensure reparation for Iran's losses.
