Tehran: Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, has called upon the Persian Gulf Arab countries and Jordan to provide an official explanation regarding claims made by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) about their involvement in American military actions against Iran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei's remarks came after CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper, in a video statement, alleged that several members of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) along with Jordan participated in attacks on Iran. Baqaei emphasized that if these claims are unfounded, it is imperative for these states to transparently deny them.

Baqaei underscored that Iran's actions are purely defensive, responding to the US military presence and activities within the territories of these states. He asserted that any questions directed at Iran regarding its retaliatory measures are unwarranted, as its actions are aimed at restoring regional security and stability.

The spokesperson further criticized the US-Israeli actions in the region as the primary source of instability, warning that any cooperation with these activities constitutes aggression and a breach of both good neighborly relations and the United Nations Charter. The PGCC, comprising Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman, hosts US military bases that have been implicated in the US operations against Iran.
