Tehran: Iran's Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi has met with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the meeting, which took place in Kyrgyzstan, focused on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing regional and international issues. Both ministers engaged in discussions that emphasize the importance of collaboration between their nations.

In his address at the SCO ministerial meeting, Araghchi underscored the urgent need to shift the focus from predominantly political and security cooperation to a more comprehensive economic, technological, and development-oriented partnership. He argued for a broader scope of collaboration to promote sustainable growth and development in the region.

Araghchi also expressed concern over the silence and ambiguous attitudes towards aggressive acts against Iran. He warned that such inaction may embolden aggressors to continue their offenses, highlighting the need for a unified and clear stance from the international community.
