Iran Dismantles Terrorist Cell Planning Attacks on Western Province Governorates

Tehran: Iran's Intelligence Ministry has dismantled a three-member terrorist cell linked to anti-revolutionary groups that was planning attacks on governorate buildings in the country's west. A provincial office of the Ministry of Intelligence in Lorestan Province said the team was composed of two men and one woman.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the cell had been tasked with gathering visual documentation of impact sites from missile strikes during the recent US-Israeli-imposed war against Iran, in addition to plotting bomb attacks on western governorate offices. The group was in the process of preparing weapons and equipment for its operational plans when it was apprehended, the report said.

Intelligence and judicial authorities stated that operations would continue until all networks linked to those detained are completely dismantled. The authorities emphasized the ongoing commitment to national security and the prevention of further threats in the region.
