Tehran: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in a telephone call with the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, has warned against the continued US military adventurism in the region, emphasizing that the Iranian nation and its Armed Forces are determined to defend the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi held a phone conversation with Field Marshal Asim Munir to discuss and consult on the latest regional developments, including US military actions, in violation of a Pakistan-mediated Tehran-Washington ceasefire deal, also known as the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

During the call, the top diplomat strongly condemned the US's aggressive attacks on various parts of Iran, saying they amounted to a clear violation of the UN Charter and the MoU that stipulated an end to the war on all fronts. He also characterized the recent rhetoric and admissions by US officials regarding their non-adherence to the Islamabad memorandum as a clear indication of a breach of promise and the continuation of Washington's warmongering policies.

Araghchi underlined, however, that the Iranian nation and the valiant Armed Forces remained firm in responding to any aggression and defending the country's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security.
