Iran Must Resist Bullying and Focus on Scientific Progress, Says President

Karaj:President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasized the importance of advancing scientific knowledge and improving productivity, declaring that Iran must resist bullying and unfair treatment.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian spoke at a national ceremony marking the start of the 2026-2027 agricultural year at the Seed and Plant Improvement Institute. He asserted that the country's strength and dignity hinge on scientific progress, urging that Iran not remain ignorant while making declarations.

Addressing pessimistic predictions from adversaries about Iran's economic and livelihood conditions, Pezeshkian noted warnings of severe disruptions by May unless certain measures were taken. Despite these challenges, he stated that the government relied on domestic capabilities and confidence in its managers to navigate obstacles, emphasizing that sanctions could be overcome with shared goals and resolve.

The president highlighted the need for Iran to better utilize its resources, such as water and soil, and improve agricultural efficiency, stating that lagging behind other countries is unacceptable. He urged managers to identify current capabilities, leverage the expertise of scientists and specialists, and learn from successful international experiences.

Pezeshkian further noted that the first step is acknowledging the unsatisfactory current situation and examining how other countries have achieved better results. He concluded by stressing that decisions must be grounded in scientific evidence and logic, positing that resisting truthful arguments constitutes a significant injustice.
