Iran Reviews U.S. Response to 7-Day Hostilities Proposal

Tehran:Iran is currently examining the U.S. response to its proposed seven-day plan aimed at ending hostilities and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, as stated by Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Gharibabadi shared these details with reporters in Tehran, discussing the status of Iran-U.S. negotiations and the outcome of Iran's recent proposal to the U.S. through mediators. The U.S. communicated its feedback on the proposal, which was initially presented by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in New York, through intermediaries. Iran's review of the U.S. response is ongoing, with relevant channels involved. Iran plans to announce its final stance after completing the internal review and will prepare for alternative scenarios if necessary, Gharibabadi added. The proposal's conditions were communicated to the U.S. during the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York via a Qatari mediator. These conditions mirrored tho se in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, which previously failed to produce results due to U.S. non-compliance and continued aggressive actions against Iran. The conditions outlined by Iran included cessation of U.S. aggression, such as the maritime blockade and economic measures, ending the war on all fronts, releasing frozen assets, and ensuring safe shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz, as agreed with Oman.
