Iran Seeks US Guarantees to End War Through Diplomacy

Tehran:Iran is calling for tangible guarantees from the United States to bring an end to the ongoing war, as stated by Saeed Khatibzadeh, Head of the Center for Political and International Studies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He emphasized Tehran's commitment to resolving conflicts diplomatically, despite previous breaches and betrayals by the US.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Khatibzadeh made these comments during an interview with Russia-1 television. He was responding to reports from US media about the stalled Qatar-mediated negotiations. He reiterated that Iran's strategy is to diplomatically resolve the crisis, even though the US has repeatedly disrupted negotiations.

Khatibzadeh highlighted that Iran has maintained a high level of defensive readiness while seeking to avert regional crises through diplomatic efforts. He mentioned that Iran has put forward proposals through intermediaries like Qatar and Pakistan after the US violated the Islamabad agreement.

Among the proposals is a "seven-day resolution plan," which has been communicated to the US through Qatari mediation. The feedback from the American side was received during a brief stopover by the Foreign Minister on his return from New York.
