Iran Vows to Pursue Justice for Minab School Attack Victims

Minab:Iran will continue its international legal efforts to secure the rights of victims of the Shajareh Tayyebeh school attack in Minab until a final result is achieved, administration spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani stated.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Mohajerani emphasized that the Vice Presidency for Legal Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is pursuing the case persistently. Despite the potential duration of legal proceedings, the administration is committed to securing justice for the victims.

On February 28, during the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran, the Shajareh Tayyebeh elementary school in Minab was hit by a US missile strike, resulting in the deaths of at least 175 people, including 168 schoolchildren, sports players, school board members, teachers, and parents.

Mohajerani also mentioned the government's decision to establish a special headquarters for Minab to coordinate relief efforts and ensure that all actions in the area are organized effectively. The country's school-building benefactors' association is involved in the reconstruction process, planning to build a new school while preserving the existing one as a museum.

In addition to reconstruction, cultural efforts are underway to document the tragedy and convey the resilience of the Iranian people. Amirkabir Publications is leading this initiative with the novel 'Khoonab-e Minab' (Minab's Blood), which was written after extensive field interviews with bereaved families. Mohajerani expressed hope that translations of the work into various languages would help international audiences understand the impact of the event.
