New York:Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Philippine Foreign Minister Theresa Lazaro during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the meeting took place on Saturday night, Tehran time, during the 81st UNGA session. The Iranian Foreign Ministry released a statement about the meeting but did not provide further details.

Since arriving in New York on Monday for the General Assembly, Araghchi has been engaging with numerous global counterparts to discuss various issues. One of the key topics he has addressed is Tehran's position on the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, where international shipping has been affected by the conflict initiated by the United States and Israel against Iran in late February.
