Tehran: The presidents of Iran and Tajikistan have emphasized the development of bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including economic, trade, tourism, and cultural fields. They have also stressed the importance of expanding strategic relations between Tehran and Dushanbe, particularly in light of a mutual understanding to end regional conflicts and consolidate peace and stability.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, during a telephone conversation with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, conveyed his gratitude for Tajikistan's show of sympathy and support towards Iran. Pezeshkian highlighted the deep historical, cultural, and civilizational ties between the two nations, describing the relationship as both privileged and strategic.

Pezeshkian reiterated Iran's view of Tajikistan as a close ally, emphasizing their shared language and cultural roots. He expressed Iran's determination to further expand bilateral cooperation and strengthen relations in all areas of mutual interest.
