Accra:Iran's Army spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami-Nia has stated that the United States launched an illegal war against Iran with the aim of destroying Iranian-Islamic civilization but now finds itself strategically isolated for the first time since World War II. He noted that even the closest allies of the US have refused to assist.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Akrami-Nia made these remarks during a ceremony marking the anniversary of the founding of the Army's Political-Ideological Organization. He criticized recent comments by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, asserting that they exposed Washington's true intentions and hostility towards Iran's civilization.

Akrami-Nia further commented that Rubio's speech at the Acropolis in Greece was part of efforts to undermine the foundations of Iran's soft power. He claimed that Rubio's remarks stripped away the mask of American hypocrisy, revealing the US's anti-civilizational nature and hegemonic ambitions.

He emphasized that the US rulers' objective in the ongoing conflict was not just to overthrow the Islamic Republic but to destroy Iranian-Islamic civilization entirely. Akrami-Nia also highlighted the role of the Iranian people in national resistance, stating that US leaders had mistakenly believed that assassinating the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and senior military commanders would intimidate the Iranian people. However, the Iranian people's historic resistance had reportedly surprised their adversaries and thwarted their plans.
