Avaza:Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs of Iran, participated in the meeting of the Working Group of Senior Officials of the Caspian Sea littoral states held in Avaza, Turkmenistan.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the meeting included special representatives from the Caspian region countries to discuss the declining water levels of the Caspian Sea and its various implications. The participants emphasized the need for enhanced five-party cooperation to identify the causes and address the effects of this environmental issue.
A significant topic at the meeting was the proposal to establish a Commission of Caspian Littoral States. This commission would be tasked with ongoing examination of the declining water levels and developing strategies to mitigate its impact, involving senior officials from the littoral states.
The decisions made by the Senior Officials Working Group will be submitted for approval at a special summit of Caspian littoral state leaders. This summit is set to convene on Friday in Avaza, with a focus on addressing environmental concerns related to the Caspian Sea.
