Tehran:Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has commemorated the second anniversary of the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the late secretary-general of Lebanon's Hezbollah. Araghchi stated that Nasrallah's legacy of resistance and dignity will continue to resonate.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi paid tribute to Nasrallah, emphasizing that his name is intertwined with the contemporary history of Lebanon and the broader West Asia region. He highlighted Nasrallah's role in decades of struggle to end occupation and defend the sovereignty, dignity, and honor of the region's peoples.

Araghchi described Nasrallah as part of a generation of leaders who learned politics amid occupation, war, and regional crises, firmly believing in the right to sovereignty, dignity, and self-determination. He remarked that Nasrallah's martyrdom represents a significant loss but also reinforces the idea that eliminating individuals does not erase their ideals.

The foreign minister noted that the history of Lebanon, Palestine, and the region illustrates that deeply rooted political issues cannot be resolved through assassination or intimidation. He praised Sheikh Naim Qassem's leadership of Hezbollah following Nasrallah's death, highlighting the continued pursuit of justice and resistance.

Araghchi extended condolences and congratulations on the anniversary to the families of the martyrs, the people of Lebanon, and all those advocating for freedom, independence, and dignity.
