Iranian Foreign Minister Holds Talks with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon

Tehran:Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi engaged in discussions with Jean Arnault, the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the meeting took place in Tehran on Tuesday, where the two officials focused on the latest developments in Lebanon and the broader region. The information was shared through a post by the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson on Telegram.

Although details of the discussions were not disclosed, it was noted that Araghchi and Arnault last convened in Tehran on July 12, 2026. During that meeting, the Iranian foreign minister condemned repeated US attacks on Iran and violations related to the Strait of Hormuz. He also criticized Israel for its ongoing military actions in Lebanon, urging the United Nations to adopt a definitive stance against US aggression.

Araghchi reiterated Iran's full support for the Lebanese people, emphasizing Lebanon's territorial integrity and sovereignty. He highlighted the necessity of ending Israel's aggression and occupation in Lebanon.
