Tehran:An Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force team has arrived in Belarus to represent Iran's Armed Forces at a joint anti-terrorism exercise involving Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the IRGC Ground Force's public relations office stated that the special forces team was dispatched to participate in the drill and exchange operational experience with forces from other member countries.

The statement highlighted that the deployment is part of Iran's strategic interactions with SCO members, amid Western countries' efforts to limit Iran's regional engagements.

Last year, the IRGC Ground Force hosted the anti-terrorism exercise in Shabestar, East Azarbaijan Province, Iran, marking the country as the fourth host. The exercise showcased the preparedness and capabilities of Iran's Armed Forces. Further details on this year's exercise are expected to be announced later.
