Tehran:Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with Switzerland's new ambassador to Tehran, Georg Steiner, to discuss the current perceptions of Iran and the potential for diplomatic growth between the two nations.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during the meeting, President Pezeshkian highlighted that some views on Iran do not align with the current realities and are based on unilateral approaches. He expressed hope that Ambassador Steiner's efforts in Tehran, along with a deeper understanding of Iran and its people, would help correct these misperceptions and enhance mutual understanding.

President Pezeshkian praised Switzerland's humanitarian stance and support for global peace, expressing optimism that the existing capacities between the two countries could be leveraged to expand relations and joint cooperation across various sectors.

Ambassador Steiner, in turn, committed to making every effort to help restore peace and stability and to strengthen constructive diplomacy between Switzerland and Iran.
