Tehran: Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, has lauded the late Ali Larijani as a capable and qualified figure in political and security management, highlighting his steadfast dedication to serving the Islamic Republic until his demise.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Rezaei expressed these sentiments on Tuesday during a visit with Larijani's family at their residence in Tehran. During the meeting, he also honored their martyred son, Morteza, who perished alongside Larijani in an Israeli airstrike.
Ali Larijani, who held the position of Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike near Tehran on March 16. The attack occurred during the 40-day military campaign initiated by Israel and the US against Iran, which began on February 28. Morteza, Larijani's son, was also killed in the same incident.
Rezaei remarked, "Martyr Ali Larijani was not only a man with a strong cultural outlook and insight, but also a capable and qualified manager in the political and security fields. He remained steadfast in his efforts and service to the Islamic Republic until the final moments of his life." He further noted that Larijani's endeavors to address Iran's diplomatic challenges had provoked the Israeli regime's ire.
