Tehran: Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri has arrived in Jaipur, India, to attend the BRICS Tourism Summit 2026.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Salehi Amiri arrived in Jaipur on Thursday to participate in the summit. He emphasized the importance of BRICS, highlighting its significant global influence as it includes major nations such as China, India, Russia, and Iran. He noted that BRICS has emerged as a key power center in international affairs.

Salehi Amiri also mentioned plans for a bilateral meeting with India's minister of culture and tourism on the sidelines of the summit. He expressed optimism that these discussions would lead to practical outcomes aimed at enhancing Iran's tourism cooperation with BRICS member countries.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts is strategically focusing on the opportunities presented by BRICS. The goal is to leverage this framework to expand Iran's tourism, cultural, and international partnerships effectively.

The BRICS framework is centered around cooperation among major emerging economies, addressing economic, political, and development issues. Under India's presidency in 2026, the tourism meetings are scheduled to take place in Jaipur from 19 to 22 August.
