Iran’s Foreign Minister Calls for Global Condemnation of US Maritime Actions

Tehran: Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has called on all countries to adopt a clear and decisive stance in condemning the US acts of maritime piracy and threat to international navigation. Araghchi made the remarks in a telephone call with his Polish counterpart Radoslaw Sikorski, briefing him on the security developments in the West Asia region and the consequences of the aggressive actions of the US and the Zionist regime against Iran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi described the insecurity imposed on the Persian Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz as a direct result of the US-Israeli aggression against Iran. He stressed the necessity of all countries taking a clear and decisive stance in condemning the US acts of maritime piracy and the threat to international navigation.

The Polish side expressed sympathy with the families of the victims of the recent war and underscored his country's stance in resorting to diplomacy to put an end to the war and establish peace. During the conversation, both officials also discussed bilateral relations and the latest trends of developments in the region, as well as certain consular issues.

The United States and Israel imposed a war of aggression against Iran on February 28, assassinating Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the father of Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei. Several top military commanders were also assassinated on the first day of the aggression.
