Tehran: Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei asserts that the strengthening of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia will be mutually beneficial for both countries, highlighting their potential to complement each other.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ayatollah Khamenei made these remarks during a meeting with Saudi Arabia's Defense Minister, Prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud, in Tehran on Thursday. The Saudi defense minister conveyed a message from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia to Ayatollah Khamenei during the meeting.

Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that while enhancing ties between Tehran and Riyadh faces certain opposition, it is crucial to overcome these hostile intentions. He assured that Iran is fully prepared to advance the relationship. He also mentioned Iran's advancements and expressed readiness to assist Saudi Arabia in various areas, underscoring the importance of mutual support among brothers rather than relying on external entities.

The meeting also included the participation of Major General Mohammad Baqeri, Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces. Prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud expressed his intent to expand relations and cooperation with Iran across multiple sectors, hoping that the constructive discussions would lead to stronger ties between the two nations.

The Saudi defense minister, accompanied by a high-ranking delegation of military officials, arrived in Tehran earlier in the day. During his visit, he also engaged in discussions with Major General Baqeri and other prominent military and political figures.
