Tehran: Iran's President, Masoud Pezeshkian, has emphasized the necessity for his administration to engage with international partners to advance the Islamic Republic's political and economic objectives. Pezeshkian articulated these views during a televised interview, reflecting on the 14th government's first 100 days in office. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian discussed the government's proactive foreign policy stance, highlighting approximately 100 meetings with global leaders. He identified international interaction as crucial for navigating crises, advocating for economic openness and enhanced cooperation. A key foreign policy priority includes Iran's upcoming participation in the Eurasian Summit, where it will gain observer status. This role is seen as an opportunity to foster trade with Eurasian countries, facilitating market access for Iranian producers through reduced tariffs. Pezeshkian underscored plans to involve the Chamber of Commerce and private sector entrepreneurs in int ernational trips, aiming to support industrial and manufacturing sectors. The president reported positive discussions with China, resulting in agreements now progressing toward implementation. Similar dialogues with Russia have led to planned visits by Russian deputies to Iran, aiming to finalize bilateral agreements, potentially during the Eurasian Summit or a future Moscow meeting. The president also criticized recent European sanctions as provocative, accusing Europe of aligning with the US in targeting Iran's shipping and aviation sectors. Despite these challenges, Pezeshkian reiterated Iran's commitment to peaceful relations, cautioning against European hostility. Regional relations were another focus, with Pezeshkian emphasizing healthy ties with neighbors like India and Iraq. He described these nations as "brothers" but warned of external attempts to incite discord. Agreements with India and Iraq have been signed, with further negotiations underway with other neighboring countries. Addressing infras tructure, Pezeshkian highlighted the north-south corridor project. The Minister of Roads and Urban Development is actively involved in overcoming project hurdles to enhance regional partnerships. Regarding Syria, Pezeshkian condemned terrorist attacks violating UN Security Council resolutions, urging diplomatic resolutions through the Astana peace process involving Russia, Iran, Turkey, and Syria. In closing, Pezeshkian accused Zionists of seeking to disrupt Iran's international agreements by instigating regional conflicts. He recounted tragic events since assuming office, such as the assassination of Palestinian leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and ongoing violence in Gaza and Lebanon.
