Iran’s Strategy Combining Diplomacy and Military Strength to Ensure Security

Tehran:Iran must blend military actions with diplomatic negotiations to establish a lasting deterrence and prevent further attacks, according to Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. He emphasized that agreements alone cannot guarantee the country's security.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ghalibaf expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of negotiations with the United States, even if they resulted in a signed agreement containing Washington's commitments. He questioned whether such agreements would truly prevent future attacks on Iran.

Ghalibaf rejected the idea that Iran should depend solely on military confrontation and heightened tensions to force its enemies to retreat. He argued that US hostility towards Iran is deeply rooted in Washington's hegemonic ambitions, which only serve to fuel further ambitions rather than causing the US to back down.

He proposed a dual approach of fighting and negotiating to establish lasting deterrence as a means to protect Iran against future threats. Ghalibaf highlighted the necessity for Iran to become powerful enough to convince the United States and other international actors that they cannot achieve their objectives against the country.

He stressed that no one should dare to attack Iran, asserting that anyone considering such actions should recognize Iran's strength and understand that no one can challenge the country. This deterrence, he noted, requires not only building military strength but also effectively demonstrating that strength to potential adversaries.

Ghalibaf further stated that Iran should fight with full force when necessary, seize every opportunity to enhance its preparedness, and convert military victories into diplomatic gains. He emphasized the importance of turning battlefield successes into political victories and using them as evidence of enemy defeat.

These remarks come amidst increased US military activity in West Asia and escalating hostile rhetoric from American officials against Iran. Tehran has consistently warned that US bases and naval assets in the region would be targeted in response to any renewed aggression against Iranian territory.
