Tehran: The Iraqi Prime Minister and the Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad met and discussed the development of bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen joint cooperation in various fields.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi welcomed the Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad, Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadeq, for a meeting in Baghdad on Monday. The discussions focused on enhancing the mutual interests of the two nations and reinforcing regional security and stability.

The meeting also covered the ongoing preparations for Prime Minister Al-Zaidi's official visit to Tehran at the end of this week. The agenda for the visit includes activating bilateral cooperation and expanding the horizons of cooperation and coordination between Iraq and Iran on issues of mutual importance.
