Tehran: Iran's newly appointed consuls general to Mary in Turkmenistan and Trabzon in Turkey met with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Monday, before departing for their respective posts.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during the separate meetings, Araghchi urged the two diplomats to strengthen bilateral cooperation with their host countries, particularly in the economic, trade, transit, cultural, and consular fields. Seyed Mostafa Hosseinipour, the new Consul General to Mary, and Hossein Khosravi, the new Consul General to Trabzon, outlined their agendas for their diplomatic missions during the meetings.

Hosseinipour previously served as a diplomat at Iranian embassies in Russia, Thailand, and Poland before his appointment to Mary. Khosravi served as an economic counselor at Iranian embassies in Moscow, Beijing, and Vienna before his appointment to Trabzon.
